User Guide

Chordrift is a composing companion app that lets you explore chord progression ideas by ear, then play along with them.

The basic flow

  1. Pick a key and a mode (major, minor, etc.)
  2. Build a progression by listening to candidates in Progression mode or Explore mode
  3. Set BPM, rhythm, and instrument, then loop it
  4. Play along on guitar or a MIDI keyboard (improv practice, checking how a progression feels)

Changing the key transposes everything automatically

Progressions are stored internally using scale-degree notation, so changing the key automatically transposes the whole progression. A progression built in C major can be heard in D major or F major with a single button press.

Three places worth knowing

Top header
Guitar/piano toggle, key, mode, favorites, and the menu (≡). The menu holds this manual, the release notes, and the language switch (English / 日本語).
Middle
Your current progression, with the suggestion area below it (Explore mode / Progression mode / Free pick).
Bottom
The instrument panel (fretboard or keyboard) and the transport bar (play, BPM, rhythm, mixer). The instrument panel can be collapsed.
